Indian woman gave birth to a girl with two heads and three hands

A girl with a second head in the abdomen – the so-called parasitic twin – was born in India, the Daily Mail reported.

Indian doctors at the JK Lone Hospital in Jaipur conducted a four-hour operation, during which the outgrowth was successfully removed. Now the baby is on the mend.

The “second head” was only partially developed, it had no ears and eyes. According to surgeons, the “head” deprived the girl of vital nutrients. In addition, next to the “second head” the child had a third hand.

As the newspaper notes, births of children with a parasitic twin are extremely rare – one in a million newborns. The operation was conducted on April 26, but the media reported on it only now.
