Belgian legionary “Tottenham” bought a hotel in Antwerp, De Gulde Schoen, rebuilds and modernizes it. During the works in the basement of the hotel was found a treasure worth 1 million pounds sterling.
Dembele allowed archaeologists to check the 700-year-old building before starting the restoration work.
Archaeologists have found a hiding place, in which were products from porcelain, ceramics and glass dating from the 18th century.
Part of the products will be exhibited in the lobby of the hotel, part of will be added to the collection of city museums.
