France found the largest ancient burial

Archaeologists have unearthed the largest ancient mass grave in France with more than 40 graves in the centre of Bordeaux. According to the hypothesis of scientists, the burial dates back to the reign of Justinian (VI century BC) on the border of antiquity and the middle ages

This is an exceptional place that will become a point of reference in France to the scientific world, specializing in antiquity, – the representative of the archaeological Bureau of Hades – Xavier Perrault. He noted that there are three or four burials of the same time period, but none of them can compare with the detected scale.

According to the hypothesis of scientists, the burial dates back to the reign of Justinian (VI century BC) on the border of antiquity and the middle ages. At the present time, found the remains of 300 people, but Perrault believes that this number will double. In addition to the human remains of that era were also found two sarcophagi of the Merovingians (the first dynasty of Frankish kings), household utensils, and coins.
