Alaska volcano Theologian threw a powerful column of ash

The volcano Theologian, is located on the uninhabited island belonging to the Aleutian Islands in Alaska, USA, threw a column of ash to a height of about 9.5 km.

The volcanological Observatory of Alaska have declared the highest “red” level alerts to for aviation. Ash clouds that rise to a height above 6 km, are a threat to aircraft because particles of ash can damage engines.

Satellite images show that the cloud is moving to the northeast over the Bering sea. Monitoring of the volcano is from the nearby Islands and from satellites.

The giant began to show increased activity from the 16th of December last year. Volcano Theologian is 1368 km South-West of the city of anchorage.
