An earthquake of magnitude 5.7 occurred in the North of Tanzania, West of lake Victoria. The focus lies at a depth of 10 kilometers. The epicenter was located 22 km from us. point Nsunga and 190 kilometers from the capital city of Uganda – Kampala.
13 people were killed and 203 people were injured. The greatest destruction observed in the town of Bukoba. Tremors were felt in Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya and Burundi.
