An earthquake of magnitude 6.4 occurred in the Atlantic ocean

An earthquake of magnitude 6.4 occurred today in the Atlantic ocean. The epicenter lies at a depth of 10 km and was located near the island of Grytviken, the administrative centre of the British overseas territory of South Georgia and the South sandwich Islands.

Grytviken is one of the most popular tourist sites in Antarctica, both because of the impressive paintings of the surrounding mountains, glaciers and fjords and historical landmarks whaling base.
