An earthquake of magnitude 7.8 occurred in New Zealand, then there were two powerful aftershocks of magnitude 6.2 and 5.9 on the Richter scale. The earthquake occurred at a distance of 53 km from the city of Amberley. Tremors were felt in most parts of New Zealand.
