An unusually high tide flooded Venice

In Venice had to contend with the high water, the maximum tide was + 117 cm above the sea level.

A very strong tide rarely occurs in June. According to the Center of the tides in Venice, before a similar water level was observed on 6 June 2002 at around 121 cm above the sea level. High water led to flooding in 23 % of the city, Piazza San Marco, the water level was 35, see Today’s high tide is expected at around 95 cm.
