In the southwestern part of Southern California, USA, over 40,000 lightning strikes were recorded in the sky within 24 hours.
Flashes of lightning on Sunday, September 10, were observed in the counties of Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Ventura. In one area meteorologists recorded more than 5 thousand lightning strikes within just three hours. Specialists noted that this is very much for such a short period of time.
