Activity at the Colima volcano continues, but its intensity decreased over the past week. The viscous lava flow on the South side giant continues to move at very low speed, rockfalls occur in front of the lava flow.
The explosions at the highest level vents of Colima happen relatively often, probably destroying the newly emerged dome. Local volcanologists have recently selected a sample of lava, to investigate its chemical properties, which could provide the key to understanding and explaining the recent effusive phase of the eruption, which began very suddenly and very quickly.
