Downpours in western China killed 23 people

As a result of torrential rains in western China, at least 23 people were killed.

The provinces of Anhui, Henan, Hubei, Sichuan, Shaanxi and the city of Chongqing have been in the grip of bad weather since 1 October. Intensive rainfall caused the descent of landslides, mudflows and floods. In total, as a result of the disaster, 2.78 million people were affected.

Their homes in an emergency were forced to leave 34 thousand people, as much as they need material assistance. Collapsed 5.2 thousand buildings, another 24 thousand buildings damaged.

Under the water was 232.6 thousand hectares of fields. The crop is completely destroyed on the area over 50 thousand hectares.
