Earthquake of magnitude 7.1 occurred in Mexico

An earthquake of magnitude 7.1 occurred in the state of Puebla. The hearth lay at a depth of 51 kilometers. The epicenter was 5 km from the city of Isukar de Matamoros and 63 km from Puebla de Zaragoza. Underground shocks were felt in Mexico and Guatemala.

The total number of victims of the strongest earthquake in Mexico, according to officials, reached 138 people. Data on the deaths come from Mexico City, Mexico City, Morelos and Puebla.

It is reported that the earthquake in Mexico City killed 36 people, at least 44 buildings collapsed, more than 70 people were hospitalized. Also, local authorities reported 64 deaths in the state of Morelos, 29 victims of the earthquake in the state of Puebla and 9 deaths in the state of Mexico.

Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto ordered the evacuation of the earthquake victims of the hospital. In addition, the capital of Mexico declared a state of emergency.
