Flooding in Indonesia

Powerful flood covered at least 54 of the capital of the Indonesian region and plunged thousands of homes under water in the city. About 11 of 54 flood-affected areas in South Jakarta, 29 in the East and 14 in North Jakarta. In some places the flood level reached 2 metres in height.

A total of 304 schools located in Central, North, West, South and East Jakarta were flooded. The national emergency management office said that there were about 480 of emergency cases, mainly in East and South Jakarta.

According to the Indonesian meteorologists, the rainy season in Indonesia reached its peak in February, triggering hydrometeorological disasters such as floods and landslides in several provinces. In the last few days floods have been recorded in Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, East Java, East Nusa Tenggara on the Western lesser Sunda Islands, West Kalimantan, North Maluku, Pantene and North Sulawesi.
