Heavy rains inundated the States of Virginia and North Carolina


Torrential rains caused floods in the American States Virginia and North Carolina. Due to the floods closed many roads, not schools. So, in many parts of Virginia, including the cities of Virginia beach and Norfolk on Wednesday because of hazardous road conditions, flooding, classes were canceled for 100 thousand students.

The remains of the circulation of “Julia” in combination with a low-pressure area on Tuesday led to strong rains in South-Eastern Virginia and North Eastern North Carolina. In some places in just 24 hours fell from 12 to 24 inches of rain. In some areas in Southeast Virginia for 72 hours fell 35 inches of rain. Local authorities urged drivers unless absolutely necessary not to go on the road.
