In the Californian city of Redondo Beach, the lives of four people aboard a small yacht were threatened after a wave of a height of up to 5 meters hit the ship.
The waves appeared unexpectedly when the yacht passed near the pier, each next wave was higher than the previous one and as the crew of the yacht did not try to escape danger, the last wave overturned the ship and threw it onto the pier.
Surprisingly, everything ended relatively safely. People were thrown overboard. They got injuries of varying severity, but all remained alive, although they are in shock after the incident.
