After the earthquake, magnitude 6.0, which occurred on August 24 in Central Italy, the national seismic network of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology of the country recorded a total of more than 5,000 aftershocks.
158 earthquakes were of magnitude 3.0 to 4.0 15 — from 4.0 to 5.0 and one underground cataclysm magnitude of 5.4 (August 24 at 4:33 local time in the Italian region of Norcia).
