An earthquake of magnitude 5.5 occurred near the Russian Bering island, the largest of the commander Islands off the coast of Kamchatka, according to the US Geological survey (USGS).
Aftershocks were recorded in 20.07 in UTC time (23.04 MSK) 182 kilometers East of the village of Nikolskoye is the only on the Islands of the village. The focus lies at a depth of 10 kilometers.
Information on casualties or damage were reported. The threat of a tsunami has not been announced.
