Increased seismic activity off the coast of Japan

A series of earthquakes with magnitude from 5.3 to 6.2 have occurred in recent days in 100 km from the coast of Honshu island, Japan. The strongest of the series, an earthquake of magnitude 6.2 occurred 23.09.2016.

Foci aftershocks lie at a depth of 10-35 km. There is a possibility of preparation for a stronger earthquake in the region.
