Karst collapse caused environmental disaster in the U.S. state of Florida

The plant fertilizer around Tampa formed a huge crater, which has damaged the capacity of wastewater which contains phosphogypsum. 960 million litres of radioactive water got into the underground source of drinking water in Florida.

To find out the cause of the accident, was pumped water from a reservoir at the plant and was discovered a huge sinkhole with a diameter of 15 meters and of unknown depth. In the pit lowered a rope with a length of over 30 meters, but the bottom is lacking.

The accident occurred on 27 August, but the plant held the information about the leak of a secret.
