On the island Oba (Ambae) in Vanuatu, the eruption of Monaro volcano continues. About 8 thousand people have already been moved to the evacuation centers. The authorities declared a state of emergency.

The volcano, which rises about 1.5 km above sea level, continues to fill the island with ashes. The trees and the harvest are dying. Representatives of the authorities note that the conditions on the island are becoming terrible. As a result, the ash was contaminated with drinking water.

In the evacuation centers there was a problem with food and basic necessities.

The National Office for Disaster Management organized the delivery by ships from Port Vila of drinking water, food, tents and other basic necessities.
