The earthquake of a magnitude of 6.1 occurred in the South Pacific ocean near the Fiji Islands, according to the European Mediterranean seismological centre (EMSC).
Tremors were recorded at 06.11 Saturday in UTC time (09.11 GMT). The epicenter of the earthquake was located 185 km South-West from Nadi, the center lies at a depth of 60 kilometers.
Earlier it was reported that the earthquake magnitude was 5.5 points, later the European Mediterranean seismological centre (EMSC) has upgraded the magnitude of the earthquake in the South Pacific ocean near the Fiji Islands to 6.1
The Agency Reuters with reference to Geological service of the USA (USGS) reports that the earthquake magnitude was 6.2.
