This morning, the typhoon “Nanmadol” hit the south-western Japanese island of Kyushu. The wind speed in areas that are affected by the elements reaches 25 meters per second, the height of waves near the coast reaches six meters.
Passage of the typhoon is accompanied by downpours, the intensity of precipitation exceeds 50 millimeters per hour. According to forecasts, by the evening of Tuesday, up to 150 millimeters of precipitation will fall on the island of Kyushu, and on the island of Shikoku, which will be in the grip of the elements in the afternoon, up to 200 mm.
Local authorities warn of the danger of landslides in the prefectures of Niigata, Ishikawa, Toyama, Nagano and located on the Pacific coast of Fukushima.
