An earthquake of magnitude 6.3 occurred on the densely populated Indonesian island of Lombok, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).
The jolts were recorded on the northern coast of the island at 12.10 local time (at 7.10 MSK). The hearth of the earthquake is at a depth of eight kilometers.
On August 5, north of the Indonesian island of Lombok, there was a strong earthquake of magnitude 7 and subsequent aftershocks with a magnitude of 5.4 and 4.3. According to the latest information, 436 people became its victims.
Later, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) reported that another earthquake with a magnitude of 6.1 occurred in the Lombok region. The epicenter of tremors was located 10 kilometers south of the city of Mataram, located on the island of Lombok. The hearth of the earthquake lay at a depth of 10 kilometers.
