The consequences of the earthquake in Mexico

An earthquake of magnitude 7.5 occurred in the state of Oaxaca. As a result of an underground blow, many buildings were destroyed and damaged. About the victims of the earthquake there is no official information.

Subterranean tremors were felt even in the capital of the country Mexico City, which is located 362 kilometers from the epicenter. Within two minutes, there was a swing in the houses, so people went out into the street.

According to Jaime Hernandez, director general of Mexico’s Federal Electricity Commission, 998,000 homes and retail space in Mexico City, Mexico City, Oaxaca, Guerrero and Morelos were left without light after an emergency. Operational agencies are working to restore the supply of electricity.
