Four districts in the Central province of Ayutthaya was under water, nearly 8,000 households have suffered as a result of accelerated emissions of water at the dam the Chao Phraya river in recent days.
Flood affected communities located along the rivers Chao Phraya, the Noi and the two channels. A total of 204 villages were flooded with water at 30-70 cm depth.
In low-lying areas, water flooded areas in some places one meter. If the dam the Chao Phraya river will continue to drain water at a speed of 1800 cubic meters per second, the level of floodwaters in four affected districts is likely to increase to 50 cm, according to local authorities.
Four schools and one mosque also submerged. Extensive agricultural land, including plantations of bananas and papaya is severely damaged due to floods.
