An earthquake of magnitude 5.7 occurred in the Central Pacific ocean near the Tonga Islands, reports the US Geological survey (USGS).
The quake was recorded at 11.32 Sunday local time (1.32 MSK). The epicenter of earthquake was located in 109 kilometers North-East from the village of Hihifo, located on the southwestern shore of the island of Niuatoputapu. The earthquake lies at a depth of 10 kilometers.
On victims and destructions are not reported. The threat of a tsunami has not been announced.
