Specialists Ava Winery from San Francisco was able to obtain synthesized wine, which in taste and flavor is not different from the traditional. If the process of traditional production of wine, takes a long time to create artificial wine takes 15 minutes. For the synthesis of the wine, the researchers used ethanol and aromatic components.

So experts Ava Winery was able to reproduce the taste of Italian white wine Moscato d’asti. Now employees are working on an imitation of French sparkling wine Dom Perignon. According to representatives of the Ava Winery, one bottle of wine goes well about a thousand different components. Their definition is quite challenging.

The specialists have decided to use modern technology. Using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry and other techniques, the team analyzed the composition of some wines, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and others. In the end, the researchers were able to determine the content of the key aromatic compounds, such as utilizabile and ethyl hexanoate, as well as their concentration in a particular brand of wine. Then the specialists using these compounds, synthesized wine and asked to evaluate it professional sommelier who did not feel the difference between traditional and artificial wine.

The company in the first phase, plans to sell 499 bottles of Dom Perignon at the price of $ 50 apiece.
