October 17, a 20-meter asteroid will pass by Earth

October 17, 2017 at about 2 pm Moscow time, the asteroid 2017 TE5 will fly past the Earth at a speed of 6.5 kilometers per second. At the moment of maximum convergence our planet and object will divide about 512.5 thousand kilometers, or 1.34 distances from Earth to the Moon.

2017 TE5 was discovered on October 14, 2017 by telescopes of the Catalan Celestial Survey, located in Arizona (USA). According to preliminary estimates, the minimum size of the asteroid is 18 meters, and the maximum – 41 meters. He makes one revolution around the Sun for 2.46 terrestrial years.
