On Mars found traces of the ancient mega-tsunami

Scientists from France, the United States and Italy conducted extensive research and found out the place from where, after collision with the asteroid over Mars, a tsunami with a height of over 100 meters was rolled.

According to researchers, billions of years ago, low-lying plains in the northern hemisphere of Mars occupied the ocean. Using data collected by rovers and spacecraft, scientists created a map of deposits with the help of which they calculated the exact place of the fall of the asteroid.

This place was the crater of Lomonosov, whose diameter reaches 150 kilometers. According to scientists after the fall of the asteroid a huge wave of tsunami with a height of 100 meters arose. Which swept the surface of the Red Planet from the place of the fall of 200 kilometers around.
