The Hayabusa 2 device made a more detailed snapshot of the asteroid Ryuga. In the photo, objects similar to stones and craters are clearly visible.
The picture was taken at a distance of only 40 km from the surface of the asteroid on June 24 this year. In addition, the photo confirmed that the asteroid has a strange shape, reminiscent of an octagonal dice. To study the Ryuga, Hayabusa 2 had to overcome a long way, because the object is located at a distance of 280 million kilometers from the Earth.
Rjugu refers to asteroids of class C. Its diameter is about 900 meters. Hayabusa 2 will have to take soil samples from the asteroid and deliver them in 2020 to Earth.
