Scientists have recorded an abnormal acceleration of the device New Horizons

The spacecraft New Horizons, after crossing the orbit of Pluto, unexpectedly accelerated its movement by one billion meters per second in a square.

According to scientists, this was due to anisotropic thermal radiation emanating from the structural elements of the apparatus, which were heated by the radioisotope thermoelectric generator.

“New horizons” is NASA’s automatic interplanetary station launched under the New Frontiers program and is intended to study Pluto and its natural satellite Charon.
