The Sun continues one of the longest minima of the century

The sun was without any spots for 41 days from the last 44.

To find a similar time section of the “empty” Sun, we must return to 2009, when the Sun experienced the deepest solar minimum for a century. The solar minimum returned, bringing additional cosmic rays, long holes in the solar atmosphere and unusual pink auroras.

Meanwhile, the solar wind flowing from the new coronal hole can reach Earth on August 12.
