A resident of the Indian state of Odish (Orissa) with an unusual number of fingers was suspected of witchcraft.
Kumar Nayak, 63, suffers from polydactyly, a common hereditary anomaly characterized by an unusually large number of fingers and toes. She has 12 fingers and 19 toes.
“I was born with this defect and was not treated, because I come from a poor family,” she explains. – The neighbors believe that I am a witch and shun me. Sometimes strangers come to look at my rejection. I have to stay at home because they treat me differently than others. ”
