Circular arc, sunny halo, over the Swiss Alps

Numerous atmospheric phenomena have been seen in the sky over the Swiss Alps at Les Diablerets near Zion.

Observing not only the solar halo, but also the circumferential arc was a particularly unusual scene.

An eyewitness Filmer said: “A 22 ° solar halo is visible around the Sun, and below it, at the horizon, is a bright part of the gray-horizontal arc.

“The solar halo is quite common, but the horizontal arc can only be seen here in the summer, when the sun is high enough in the sky.

“This arc is about 46 ° below the Sun.”
