The remains of a 39,000-year-old cave bear found intact in Siberia

On the island of Bolshoy Lyakhovsky in Siberia, Russian scientists have discovered a perfectly preserved 39,000-year-old cave bear and bear cub.

Until now, only the bones of these ancient bears have been found, but this cave bear is completely preserved, with all the internal organs in place, including even the nose.

Cave bears were prehistoric species or subspecies that lived in Eurasia from about 300,000 to 15,000 years ago.
