In the city of Verkhoyansk, Verkhoyansk district of Yakutia, air temperature dropped to 52 degrees below zero, the press service of the Republican Department of Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring said.
“November 25, 2019 at 09.00 Yakut time (03.00 Moscow time), the temperature in Verkhoyansk was minus 52 degrees with a pressure of 752 millimeters of mercury, calm.”
In addition, in the village of Batagay, Verkhoyansk district of Yakutia, the air temperature dropped to minus 51 degrees, and in the settlements of Momsky, Oymyakon and Tomponsky regions, it fell below 45 degrees.
The EDDS of the Verkhoyansk region reported that an activated day was announced for students of Verkhoyansk from the first to ninth grades (the so-called days when students are exempted from classes due to the low temperature recorded by weather stations).
According to weather forecasts, on Monday in the Verkhoyansk district of Yakutia it is expected from 40 to 45 degrees below zero.
