A powerful shower on the evening of March 14 triggered a sudden flood in the Mbarara area in western Uganda.
According to local police, at least one person died, several more people were probably missing. Rescuers found the body of a motorcyclist swept away by flood waters.
According to local media, some buildings were damaged, including part of the hotel complex, which is being built.
A total of 122 mm of precipitation fell on the area within 24 hours.
