An earthquake of magnitude 6.9 occurred in the eastern rift zone of the Kilauea volcano at 01:32 on May 5, Moscow time. The outbreak occurred at a depth of 5 km. Epicenter was at a distance of 40 km from the city of Hilo. Ground tremors were felt throughout the island.
