A sudden flood in Iraqi Kurdistan

As a result of a sudden flood in the governorate of Dahuk in Iraqi Kurdistan, 15 people were killed. Dahuk Civil Defense stated that the floods devastated the central part of Dahuk and surrounding areas, leaving behind damage and destroying more than 50 houses and 30 cars. Most of the damage is observed in the areas near the Khishkaro river.

Teams from the police and civil defense rescued from the flood waters 27 people. The emergency occurred when two vehicles were swept away by flood water in the sub-district Fahid. Local media reported that floods also affected nearby camps for the displaced.
 
The Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported that low atmospheric pressure led to heavy rain and thunderstorms with precipitation of more than 50 mm in the center of Dohuk in just one hour.
