A tornado is seen for the first time off the coast of Vladivostok (Russia)

Residents of Vladivostok witnessed a water tornado that passed over the sea in the Ussuri Bay region last Sunday.

An unusual natural phenomenon for the seaside capital was filmed by eyewitnesses. In the footage, a huge funnel comes almost to the very shore.

Scientists explain the appearance of tornadoes by the contrast of temperatures. The cyclone moving over the Primorsky Territory brought precipitation and strong winds to Vladivostok, as well as a drop in temperature. It rained with thunder and hail in the city.
