A volcano erupts in Japan

The volcanic eruption occurred on Suvanose Island in Japan’s Kagoshima prefecture, Japan’s main meteorological office said.

The fall of large volcanic stones within a radius of 1 kilometer was recorded. In this regard, the meteorological department raised the level of danger of an eruption to the third out of five possible. In practice, this means a ban on climbing the mountain.

This year, the island has had eruptions in March and June. Then the level of danger was raised to the third, but then again lowered to the second.

Meteorologists urge the population to follow the detailed information. Several dozen people live on the island.
