Abnormal snowfalls in Sweden

Snowfall paralyzed the railway carriage cars got stuck in snowdrifts After Wednesday, 9 November, 39–inch layer of snow covered the centre of Stockholm, the transport moves again in normal mode.

However, heavy snowfall has paralyzed railroad transportation in the Eastern part of Sweden. In other areas of Stockholm, many cars got stuck in snowdrifts. Thursday, November 10, the administration of transport appealed to motorists to leave their cars at home.

“The main roads of the country, you can see abandoned cars and trucks,” the Agency wrote in its press release”.

“Since 1905, the snowfall was the biggest in Stockholm,” — says the national weather service SMHI. The traffic in Stockholm after yesterday’s snowfall remains chaotic, but it gradually begins to recover. Several schools in the greater Stockholm remain closed Thursday due to extreme traffic conditions.
