The 11 meter (33 ft) mammal has been discovered on the sands of Blyth Beach.
A spokesman for HM Coastguard said: “We received reports of a stranded whale in Blythe from numerous members of the public around 7.20 am.”
Local Coast Guard officers are present and there is a small cordon to keep the public away. ”
This was reported by the Northumberland County Council, which will be responsible for the disposal of the whale.
