An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 occurred off the coast of Ecuador, the European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) reports.
The epicenter of tremors was located 88 kilometers north of the city of Portoviejo. The hearth of the earthquake lay at a depth of 10 kilometers.
According to Reuters, five people received minor injuries, and minor damage was caused. There is no threat of a tsunami.
In April 2016, an earthquake off the coast of Ecuador with a magnitude of 7.8 killed more than 650 people.
