Ebeko volcano on the Kuril island of Paramushir during the eruption threw out a column of ash to a height of 3 kilometers, the press service of the Russian Emergency Ministry for the Sakhalin region reports.
“This morning, the Crisis Management Center of the Main Department of EMERCOM of Russia in the Sakhalin region received information that ash ejection to a height of 3 kilometers occurred on the volcano Ebeko. The plume spread southeastward for up to 5 km.
According to EMERCOM, no ash plume was observed in Severo-Kurilsk. Odor of hydrogen sulfide was not felt. There is no threat to life of the population.
