Ebeko volcano threw a column of ashes for 2.5 km

As reported in the Kamchatka group of volcanology and seismology, “moderate activity of the volcano continues.” Volcanic ash emissions reached a height of 2 to 2.5 km above sea level, the trail drifts north-east of the volcano and spread 8 km already. ”

There are no dangers for the island’s population. Nevertheless, in the area of ​​the volcano an orange code of aviation danger is installed. Volcanic emissions can affect low-flying aircraft and the airport in the city of North Kurilsk, which is located at the foot of Ebeko.

The volcano is located on the island Paramushir in the ridge of the Kuril Islands.
