Thirteen people died as a result of sudden floods flooding five villages on the main Indonesian island of Java. Pouring rain caused floods in the area of the town of Magelang, in the province of Central Java.
The body of the 80-year-old man was found on May 2, resulting in a death toll of 13 people, said the head of the local Agency for Disaster Management Eddie Susanto.
Floods damaged 71 houses, about 50 families were evacuated to shelters. About 1,000 people, including soldiers, police and volunteers, take part in the search and rescue operation.
