On August 15 in Moscow reported dangerous weather event — 100 mm of rain in less than a day. This phenomenon belongs to the category of dangerous and is called “the long rain”. It is noted when rainfall exceeds 100 mm for a period of more than 12 hours.
Heavy continuous rain began on Sunday evening. In less than a day, at 16:30 local time on 15 August, rainfall reached 100 mm. This is the first time such an intense rain in the history of meteorological observations of Moscow.
