Flooding in Indonesia killed 44 people

At least 44 people were killed and nine others were injured in flash floods and landslides that hit East Nusa Tenggara province in central Indonesia early Sunday morning, National Disaster Management Agency spokesman Raditya Jati said.

The disaster bombarded dozens of houses, demolished several other houses and destroyed a bridge, according to a local official.

Local media reported that hundreds of people were missing as a result of landslides that hit the village of Nele Lamadike in eastern Nusa Tenggar.
