Heavy rains that lasted in Nicaragua at the end of last week caused floods on several rivers of the country. Departments of Boaco, Hinotega and Rivas have suffered from floods, according to the report of the National System of Prevention, Disaster Mitigation and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters (Sinapred).
The greatest damage was caused by flooding on the Fonseca River in the municipalities of Santa Lucia, Boaco and Teusteppe. Preliminary assessment shows that 124 houses are damaged, where 464 people live. 8 houses from them are completely destroyed. Streams of water destroyed 8 bridges and damaged power lines.
